Structure of the NoE CMA

The CMA consortium built Virtual Integrated Laboratories (VILs) covering all aspects of the plan of research. These VILs are inter-related by a networking system and a decision making system and have integrated also a European high standard school for material science.

The CMA (complex Metallic Alloys) research structure is based on six Virtual Integrated Laboratories (VILs) in which more than 300 permanent scientists and 60 PhD students are enlisted. The action of the VILs is reinforced by Virtual Integrated Units (VIUs) closely involved in integration and dissemination activities. The CMA structure is headed by management bodies (Committee of Directors, Executive Board, Senior Advisory Council and Governing Board)

Committee of Directors (CD) composed of the Directors of the Virtual integrated Units, represents both the scientific expertise and the R&D capacity integrated.

Executive Board (EB) composed of the Chairperson and the two Vice-Chairpersons.

Senior Advisory Council (SAC) provides advice based on the expertise of the members of this Council and has a strong steering function in that submissions, work plans and budget matter go from the EB to the Governing Board formed by the Consortium institutions only via this council.

Governing Board (GB) is formed by the Consortium institutions and headed by a representative of the coordinator institution. It is the final decision making body.
